Overnight Home Stay Program

Welcome Party

Noda International Association carried out the overnight home stay program this year too.
The foreign exchange students, who are studying at universities or colleges in Chiba, stayed at ordinary homes in Noda city from August 8 to 9.
They experienced Japanese home lives and could promote an interchange with their host families.

Prior to the program, NIA invited 17 exchange students and 17 host families to the welcome party where they all met first and talked with each other.
The Welcome Party was held at NPO Support Center on Aug. 8 (Sat.).
The exchange students were from China, Korea, Taiwan, and Malaysia.

We had welcoming addresses from Mr. Matsumura (President of NIA), Mr. Nemoto (Mayor of Noda City), and Mr. Miyauchi (Chairman of Noda Educational Board).

Some interesting episodes in the history of cake are introduced.
For example,
1)Egyptians baked bread.
2)Marie Antoinette said “If you have no bread, you should eat cake.”, and her remark provoked Paris citizens to anger.
